Shyne & Black Rob - Hot 97 freestyle (2000)

This has been sitting on my hard drive for ages and I've no idea where I got it from* but it made me realise that I miss the days of finding Hot 97 freestyles online and on mixtapes. Hearing BR do his verse from Let's Get It over the Keep It Thoro beat is a highlight. Full 30 mins above, freestyle (with DL link) below...

*think it was off the Grime & Lime forum when that was briefly popping last year. Forget who posted it but as a significant amount of bits shared on there originated from this very site I don't feel too bad. Thanks anyway.

Kool G Rap & Papoose - New York Live freestyle (1999)

Before that brief period around 2005ish when Papoose was rolling with Kay Slay and Jive Records and looking like the next big thing, he was down with Kool G Rap. This freestyle is taken from an edition of New York Live on the Radio 1 Rap Show around the time G Rap's Roots Of Evil was due to drop. The full show is below, featuring A+ in part one, and Marley Marl hosting The Roots and G Rap in part two

Kool G Rap is performing in London for the first time in ages in June btw.

Noreaga, Musaliny & Maze freestyle (1997)

Nore and his mans go in over Puffin On Blunts, Phone Tap and Nuthin But A G Thang and a couple of other beats. Taken from this rather nice promo doublepack, Shout out to J Preme on the TROY forum for hooking me up with this.

Doo Wop & The Bounce Squad ft Sadat X Spring #1 Freestyle (1994)

Shout out to Steve who recently sent me a bunch of goodies that I'm still going through. Doo Wop's 'Spring #1' tape was one of them so thought I'd liberate this one for you. I don't think I've ever heard an intro to a Bounce Squad tape that I didn't like. This one is no exception: Lord Tariq and Snagglepuss bring it as usual and it's always nice to hear Sadat X in his prime.

Biggie & Mase freestyle (1997)

I liberated this from DJ Absolut's 'When Disaster Strikes' mixtape. Biggie and Mase rhyming over the 'Benjamins' beat at Angie Martinez's birthday party in 1997. Quality isn't flawless but I hadn't heard it before so here you go. Shout out to Grime & Lime.

Was 3 days into the month before I realised I forgot to upload May's First Of The Month mix. I had one ready aswell but as it was a mid 90s House mix you can probably live without it. Might throw something on here soon if I get time.

Kanye West - Westwood freestyle (2004)

Kanye on Westwood's show from (I'd guess) 2004ish. Can't really write anything about him that hasn't already been said, but suffice to say he was a lot more enjoyable back then...

Shout out to Dave for sending this over as I'd never heard it before. If anyone has the full show get in touch.
