Chubb Rock - Capital Rap Show freestyle
Chubb Rock is very good at rapping but doesn't really get the props he deserves. He kills this appearance on Westwood while Clark Kent mans the tables cutting up Welcome To The Terrordome.
This turned up on a tape Craig gave me, which is labelled July '95 so maybe Westwood dug it out of the archives for a Radio 1 show off the back off Chubb's sterling performance on the Crooklyn Dodgers record.

Clark Kent - In Control on WBLS (1989)
I've been going back through some tapes and re-ripping things at 320 kbps whilst trying to date them (for HHRA purposes, but also just because having several shows labelled with just a year gets confusing) and have come across a few bits that I've never posted before. This recording of In Control was one such thing. I think it was part of the first bundle Tobes gave me. Anyway, Clark Kent is on mixing duties on Marley's show filling in for Pete Rock who's off on tour with Heavy D & The Boyz. I've dated it based on the ticket giveaway for the Livin Large Rap Contest at The Apollo on September 16th. Clark gets busy.

Clark Kent, Biz Markie & Funkmaster Flex live at Mecca (1994)
Recorded live on a Sunday night in NYC back in early '94 (I'm guessing), with Clark Kent, Biz and Flex on the tables at Mecca. If you've checked a few tapes of club nights from this period you'll know that the selection tends to be largely the same but it's a good listen regardless - classic hip hop, funk & soul and breaks.

DJ Clark Kent mixtape (1992)
Not sure where I got this from (Stretch Armstrong's blog maybe?) but I found it on a battered CDR at the back of the cupboard the other day. Clark is one of those DJs that other DJs rate very highly but seems to be a bit slept on by the average rap fan. Maybe because he never had his own established radio show like Red Alert or Marley or hit the mixtapes hard like Ron G. Everytime I've heard him he's always on point...
