Doo Wop - 15.09.94 (Part 3)
By popular demand (seriously!), I've finally got round to ripping the rest of this tape.
Following the blends and old school on Side A, here's the 'new' part of the tape that made up the B side. I'll post up the tracklist in the comments section.
I've actually cut the first part off. Its the Bounce Squad performing live somewhere but the sound is fucked so its basically 15 minutes of them shouting, dissing the soundman and occasionally rhyming. Quality on it isnt great but I'm gonna try and salvage the Snagglepuss freestyle.
I'm trying out mediafire as a replacement for zShare. Let me know if there's any issues.
ALSO
Good interview with DJ Riz by 7L HERE. He's also blessed you with the legendary mix Riz did for Tim Westwood back in 94.

Saxon Sound live in Brooklyn (1993)
Thought I'd go with something a bit different today as I've been listening to alot of reggae for the last week or so. I used to be quite into it but lost touch a few years back.
Then a friend recently sent me a DVD of last year's UK Cup Clash and I've been pulling out some of my old 12"s and tapes looking for certain tunes. This particular tape is of the UK's mighty Saxon Sound performing live in Brooklyn back in 1993...

Nas 'One Love' (Lights Out remix)
I was sorting out my CDs the other day and came across a copy of this Nas mix by Lights Out Productions. Its a decent selection of remixes and non-album tracks but the standout for me was this jacking-for-beats style mix of 'One Love'.

I know its one of the most blended acapellas ever but the way they've used a load of classic beats (in chronological order no less) makes this one a bit better than the rest.

SOUL FOCUS @ JUNO DOWNLOAD!!
If you've been checking this blog for a while you might have come across some of the Soul Focus remixes that have been posted.
Soul Focus consists of myself and DJ Mystery and the aim of the remixes was to provide a fresh take on some Hip Hop classics and give us (and other DJs) something different to play out.
Having got a good reception on the blogs, forums and in the clubs we've hooked up with the good peoples at Juno Download to make these available to a wider audience (the kind that pay for music rather than using rapidshare!)
The first to drop is our rework of EPMD's 'Im Housin', blending Erick and Parrish's vocals with Young MC's Apache/Shaft sampling party jam 'Know How'.
The second is one that we haven't made widely available. Roots Manuva's UK Hip Hop anthem 'Witness (One Hope)' is re-done 'jackin for beats' style, with bangers from NORE, Clipse, Nas & Jay Z laced underneath the unmistakable vocals. I've played this out a few times now and it goes down a treat.
Both are available now BUY HERE
There's more on the way very soon. If you're a DJ and are interested in being added to our mailing list email me with your credentials. Spaces are limited though so dont cry if you dont get put on.
AZ - AWOL (Hydra Beats blends)
This is the latest project from Vaporized, and this time he's taken the vocals from AZ's dope 'AWOL' album and blended them with instrumentals from the Hydra Records camp.
I found this over at Philaflava where the reviews so far have been positive to say the least, so its definitely worth a listen.

Prime Cuts on One FM (1998)
Prime Kuts of the Scratch Perverts mixing on Westwood's Radio 1 Rap Show back in June 98. The selection is mainly classics and the indie joints of the day. As you'd expect theres some sick cuts and juggles aswell.
This is from the same show as the Harry Love mix I posted last week.
