Biz Markie - Live at The Que Club (May 1994)

The Diabolical one on the tables at NYC's Q Club in May '94. Loving hearing the crowd singalong to Ain't No Fun when Biz cuts the volume...

Thanks again to Diablo for this one.

Funkmaster Flex & Lovebug Starski live at The Palladium (1993)

This is dope. Flex rocking NYC's Palladium back in '93 with Lovebug Starski on mic duties. What else do you need to know?

Good quality recording as well, unlike some live clubs sets I've posted before. The only downside is that it sounds like Nas was due to perform that night (in New York, in 1993.) as they call him to the stage, but the tape runs out before we hear anything. Thanks to MK for the tape.

Bobby J - Radio 1 Rap Show (1995)

Bobby J of The Flip Squad in the mix for 60 minutes on Westwood's show back in February '95. Technically, he's not always the most on-point on the 1s & 2s but the selection is decent. This was the first tape I had 'This Is How We Do It' on which meant it was quite in demand with the ladies in the 6th Form common room, back when you had to wait for things to be in shops before you could own them. Along with Montell, you get Biggie, Capleton, Lost Boyz, DaBrat, Mary J and more, plus a few party breaks chucked in.

If anyone can ID the track between Lost Boyz and Who Shot Ya then let me know. I think it might be Natural Elements or something related to them but that's just a guess.

Bobby J in the mix on Westwood (1995)

Bobby J was a part of Funkmaster Flex's Flip Squad back in the mid-90s and he'd regularly drop guest mixes on Tim Westwood's One FM Rap Show. This mix contains alot of the big tracks from the summer of 1995 including Biggie, KRS One, Smif N Wessun and Lost Boyz.

Despite rolling with Flex and releasing a handful of party break 12"s there's not much info online about the man also known as 'White Boy Roy'. Having asked around, it turns out he passed away a few years ago. RIP.
